The Spot: Dupont Underground
The Deets: This awesome art gallery in DC was originally an underground street trolley station opened in 1949. It was closed in the 60s with the onset of public bus transportation and the construction of the future DC metro. Fun fact: for a brief period of time, it was reopened as a shelter during the Space Race and nuclear shenanigans with the Soviet Union juuuuust in case we pulled an End of Ze World and blew ourselves up. Now open since 2016, DC locals and visitors alike are welcome to bask in the glory of its graffiti’d walls. A true hidden gem of DC to explore on a night out.
